For over two decades Nicholas Bridger has been designing beautiful handmade kitchens that work for you and your lifestyle, as well as modern life. We design, manufacture and install truly bespoke kitchens, taking pride in each and everyone, delivering a friendly yet professional service.

In this blog, we look back at some of our most-loved kitchen projects that have been designed and built around the country. If you’re undergoing a full renovation, kitchen extension or gathering ideas for future projects in your home, then there’s no better way to get inspiration than from taking a look at our past projects. We hope they inspire you.

Where shall we start?

One of our absolute favourites is this classic shaker in Bishop’s Stortford below. Designing and building amongst a Grade II listed property made this project completely unique. Historic features could be exposed and made the centre of attention to create a kitchen with absolute charm and a story to tell. Sub-Zero Wolf appliances were also added to give our client the ultimate cooking experience.

We also fell in love with this as it was our first kitchen project to feature a bespoke handmade bar. This kitchen instantly got many likes on Instagram and boosted our followers. We can imagine that the handmade bar came in handy during lockdown 2020.

We were recently contacted by a family who were in the process of renovating their property in Hatfield Broad Oak. The impressive large space was the perfect size to plan a modern kitchen that was truly bespoke to them. The space was built with numerous skylights and large windows overlooking the garden, allowing the room to flood with natural light too.

Our client was looking for a modern kitchen design to suit their young family life as well as remaining within the traditional character of their home. The solution to this was a stunning and wonderful made-to-measure kitchen from our classic shaker style, which you can see below.

This gorgeous kitchen layout in Hadley Wood was designed around a grand central island with easy access to food storage and plenty of prep space to maximise efficiency. Just look at those high ceilings and large skylights letting lots of natural light in.

Because the room is large in size and the couple are keen cooks, we built unique and bespoke pantry cupboards around the U-shaped layout, including a corner larder and day pantry. A two-tone colour scheme was chosen for this kitchen design using paints from Little Greene – French Grey 113 and Juniper Ash 115.

Traditional cup handles in polished chrome were chosen to give a modern finish blending in with the mixer style taps and appliances. Not forgetting the professional and robust appliances by Sub-Zero Wolf.

The galley kitchen in Winchmore Hill is charming and elegant and features Wolf appliances and floor-to-ceiling cabinets that utilise every inch of space, making the kitchen feel grand. There are cleverly concealed pantry cabinets that create much-needed space for the kitchen essentials and utensils and the kitchen cabinetry is in our traditional style.

The kitchen island has been designed into the centre making a divider between the different living spaces and hand-painted in a darker hue known as Plummett by Farrow & Ball. The main kitchen is hand-painted in Cornforth White also by Farrow & Ball.

This impressive Scandinavian style kitchen in Upminster is unique and allowed our client to design something from scratch in their large and beautiful new extension. Designed and styled with our classic shaker the space is perfect for entertaining and exactly met the needs of our client.

Making full use of the full height ceilings, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry was designed and built-in around the layout to give our client the ultimate storage that they were in desperate need of. A double butler sink lies in between the cooker and fridge, providing the ideal ‘kitchen triangle’ and a practical prep area.

Using a neutral palette it forms this open-plan space into a calm and peaceful atmosphere that tells a story. Touches of understated elegance were added such as a stunning crystal chandelier that takes centre stage on the highest point of the ceiling.

With a compact space to work with, we designed and built a smart and contemporary take on the modern shaker in an L-shaped layout in Chigwell. Popular with many of our client’s we hand-painted the kitchen cabinets in a two-tone colour scheme with a dark grey and strong white both from Farrow & Ball.

What we also love about this kitchen is the portable island. A fixed island in this kitchen wasn’t an option, so our client can position the practical worksurface wherever they want within the space. It then neatly slots underneath the worksurfaces when not in use.
