  3. Bridger Kitchen Diary – A closer look at a Classic Shaker in Broxbourne, Herts

A green and white themed kitchen sits here in a large property with a truly bespoke appearance. The original house was knocked down and a completely new home was re-built to our client’s specifications. Our client chose the popular classic shaker, with a Georgian style bead styled to the fronts. The doors feature a shallow recessed panel and the drawers are flat fronted.

Say hello to this interesting kitchen built in an open-plan space…

… in the heart of Broxbourne, Herts

A beautiful shot of the whole kitchen design where it all comes together with the selected hues of green and white and different materials on the surfaces. Wooden elements are chosen on the main kitchen door and table and chairs, with a black granite featuring on the kitchen island and quartz on the L-shaped layout and dresser.

Both paints are from Farrow & Ball.

Chrome knobs and handles by Armac Martin and Perrin & Rowe taps complete this kitchen that was a dream to design and build.

This side of the island shows its inviting curved front breakfast bar and under-counter storage, with modern bar stools to pull up for a chat over coffee.⠀

From this side you can see three bespoke chopping boards in two different sizes and a serving tray. They slot in perfectly into the wood cabinets and are easy to pull out when needed.

You can see just how big the space is from this angle where the island acts as a divider between the main kitchen and living/dining areas.

The L-shaped layout flows gracefully along two walls where a window breaks up the design with a stunning and multi-functional sink area. This area overlooks the garden allowing our client to breathe in lots of air and wake up to natural sunlight.

Amongst the kitchen layout, our client chose a Smeg range cooker to produce the most perfect meals. Finished in a cream colour and from the Victoria collection it was the perfect choice to fit within this property.

The aesthetic of the Victoria range perfectly captures the essence of timeless classic design and was inspired by Smeg’s very first ‘Elisabeth’ cooker produced in 1948. Above a bespoke cooker hood sits with the perfect ventilation.

Also, stainless steel appliances are situated around the cooking area from Wolf. They are the 4-slice toaster and blender – an innovation in design and functionality.

Cosmic Black granite completes the island with a striking statement where three pendant lights hang in a row lighting up and reflecting the surface where the bold colours stand out. This stunning marbled granite is from Brazil with naturally occurring bands of quartz and mica, along with red garnets creating the effect of white and copper-coloured swirls all on a black background.

Behind this lies a large fridge freezer and a tall pull-out larder. A fantastic feature, which brings all items out to you not only for easy reach but to easily see where and what you have.⠀

A beautiful bespoke dressing table sits behind the dining table, complete with glass front cabinets that have been filled with our client’s sentimental pieces and stunning glasses for the perfect evening of entertainment.

Drawers and cupboards sit below an open shelf, which makes it another great storage area for kitchen items that aren’t used every day.

What is a handmade kitchen without a bespoke pantry cupboard?

Solid wooden shelves fill the space and a bespoke spice rack hangs on the back of the door allowing our customer to select their herbs and spices easily and quickly.

Bespoke pull-out drawers are featured within the island. These solid Oak drawer boxes feature dovetail joints and quality Grass runners which can support up to 40kg and are soft-close full-extension.⠀

Everything inside the drawer comes out to you, so there’s no need to try to reach down under to shelves!⠀

Let us leave you with another shot of how the classic shaker fills the grand space and provides our client and their family with a multi-functional and loving kitchen.
