Bridger Kitchen Diary – A closer look at the Classic Shaker in Pleshey, Chelmsford

For this hub of the home in Essex, we filled it with our classic shaker style to achieve the country kitchen look our client was after with additional modern details. It may be compact but it certainly packs a punch with lots of storage, our popular pull-outs, a Wolf Range Cooker with Classic Wolf Extraction and a Perrin & Rowe tap.⠀

Say hello to this country retreat filled with traditional and modern elements…

… in the historic village of Pleshey, Chelmsford.

The colour scheme chosen for this handmade kitchen was a two-tone consisting of a light grey for the main kitchen and medium grey for the island. Wooden elements were portrayed throughout the kitchen layout with the oak flooring and solid wooden top on the island.

Due to the history behind the home, you can find wooden beams exposed throughout the home and especially within this room.

Our client opted for Calacatta Valencia quartz for the L-shaped layout, which consists of a chalky white background with prominent veins for a more traditional look. You will notice this quartz stone was designed behind the Wolf Range Cooker too, to make an outstanding splashback and a focal point.

Many homeowners are opting for splashbacks in the same stone as their worktops to create a functional element of the kitchen and an extension of the worktop or a statement piece on their own.

The kitchen island located in the middle of the space is large enough to seat 3 people comfortably on the opposite side and as you can see in this shot there are 6 large drawers on this side.⠀

It also features a solid wood top and an inset plinth to show some chunky legs!

As mentioned above, this kitchen certainly packs a punch when it comes to storage. Every inch of space has been utilized and cleverly designed to suit all kitchen essentials, making a home for each and every one of them.

The front of this cupboard opens up as two doors and is the perfect place for mugs and glasses. The microwave and kettle sit below this in the ideal spot making everything within easy reach for our client and their family.

Next, we look at that full-height pull-out larder situated next to the fridge freezer. Built-in the corner of the kitchen it offers a shelf for all those dry ingredients, perfect for cooking up a storm.

One of the drawers on the island became handy for the cutlery!

When it came to the kitchen appliances no expense was spared and our client opted for the Wolf 1216mm Fuel Range, 4 Burner, Double Griddle and Wolf 1219mm Pro Wall Hood With 2 Heat Lamps. Both appliances alongside the Wolf 4 Slice Toaster sit on one length of the L-shape.

Wolf Dual Fuel Ranges give your kitchen design an imposing centrepiece. They are noteworthy for their abundance of sizes and features as for their exhilarating performance. There are so many combinations to choose from, like adding to your repertoire and skilling up on your cooking techniques.

Our client opted for the 4 burner and double griddle one.

Above the impressive Range Cooker sits the Wolf 1219mm Pro Wall Hood with 2 Heat Lamps. The whole hood has been sculpted from a single piece of heavy gauge stainless steel. Wolf puts into the construction of this range of ventilation systems, which are designed alongside Wolf’s Dual Fuel Ranges. The function of this is a high performance, with front-mounted controls, brilliant halogen lighting and multiple speeds for the choice of powerful blower options. Doesn’t it look out of this world!

Sitting in the corner to complete the list of appliances is the Wolf 4 Slice Toaster with red knobs. This toaster handles the thickest slice with aplomb and gives you precise control for the full continuum of the toast browning spectrum, from crisp and pale to dark brown with a distinct crunch.
