Bridger Kitchen Diary – A closer look at the Traditional Shaker in Billericay, Essex
We welcome you to take a more detailed look at this traditional shaker style we designed and built for our client in Essex. What immediately draws your eye is the large centre island with a very unique shape, completely bespoke to our client’s requirements. Above this is a matching drop-down ceiling with an integrated extractor. The traditional shaker furniture has raised and fielded door and drawer panels which are framed beautifully within the cabinetry for a luxurious look and feel.
Say hello to this light and bright open-plan space…
… where a unique island is found in a high-end new-build property located in Billericay, Essex.
The main kitchen layout consists of an L-shaped design with the breathtaking island taking centre stage. It just shows you what can be done with our bespoke furniture and design. It also consists of traditional style cornices and a solid skirting style plinth.
We hand-painted the whole of the kitchen in Slaked Lime by Little Greene. Slaked Lime is a pure and neutral white with a combination of minerals to give a warm and soft appearance.
A light coloured tile was chosen for the floor and a couple of beautiful pendants hang from the drop-down ceiling with additional spotlights for added light.
This is a lovely shot from the bi-fold doors that take you out into the garden. It shows you just how we have utilized all of the available space with our bespoke furniture. Look at that sleek bend in the island too, we can’t take our eyes off of it.
The cooking appliances in one picture all selected from Siemens. Four cooking appliances sit housed amongst our traditional shaker kitchen cabinets in a bank, whereas the induction hob takes pride of place on the unique island just inches away. Wolf countertop appliances were also chosen to add to the professional chef-like kitchen.
Amongst the solid design, we also incorporated open-shelving to the far-right corner, being the place to home decorative items and storage jars. It breaks up the design and adds character.
A very large ceramic butler sink completes the wet area, finished with a polished chrome tap by Perrin & Rowe, the client also selected matching doorknobs.
Either side of this is a collection of our bespoke chopping boards and engraved serving tray all made from solid oak. Each side also features a stack of three drawers and underneath is a pull-out drawer that is designed to look like two.
Just look at the detail that has gone into this island design. We teamed up with Sharpstone Granite to produce these wonderful worktops – Calacatta Valencia Quartz. They provide a beautiful complement to the colour scheme and will turn any space into a special place thanks to the sinuous grey veins and sophisticated appearance.
Just look at this drinks cabinet we built into an unused space of the kitchen. It is everything you could wish for in one place. Prepare drinks before and after dinner on the perfect countertop, store glassware in the storage cabinets, and keep your drinks cool in the built-in wine cooler.
Let us just leave you with an overhead shot of the whole kitchen!
