  3. Bridger Kitchen Diary – A closer look at the Traditional Shaker in Cuffley

We welcome you to take a look around the recent project we completed in Cuffley. Following on from major works in this home, this kitchen now features an exquisite traditional shaker style that has raised and fielded door panels for an exceptional style and luxury way of living.

Say hello to the deep, cosy Traditional Shaker…

… that accentuates a warm and luxury vibe in the heart of Cuffley village.

The space boasts a large open-plan area making it the ultimate centre of the home for all the family. The traditional solid wood island makes way for a divider between the different zones completed with skirting style plinths.

Four comfortable bar stools all sit in a line with delicate beads flowing around the plush velvet, with a classy charcoal grey that completes the colour scheme.

The floor is made up of a luxury vinyl tile in a herringbone effect with a dark walnut finish to accentuate the design aesthetics of the space. It adds character and warmth that’s perfect for those coming winter months.

The handmade cabinets are hand-painted in Charleston Gray by Farrow & Ball. It’s a deep, warm grey with a brown undertone, popular in the modern home and creates a homely atmosphere. The richness of the colour brings the beautiful detail to life bringing the whole space together for our client to enjoy. This is what we love!

The room lends itself to tell a story with the three main areas of the home being combined into one. The galley style kitchen layout sits in the middle, consisting of a perfect kitchen triangle and plenty of storage surrounding the ideal cooking appliances.

Where the living area is situated, open-shelving makes way for an area to place stylish accessories, drawing the eye to shining ornaments that provide a stylish vibe to this hub of the home.

Lets now take a look at the kitchen island in detail…

Traditional shaker doors and dovetailed drawers provide the kitchen with lots of storage solutions, an alluring appeal and what a multi-functional kitchen is known for. Chrome finished Perrin & Rowe handles and knobs complete the look blending in with the other metallics that create the industrial look.

The shaker design falls beautifully into place soaking up the popular deep grey, blending in with the solid wood bespoke serving tray and chopping boards that are housed within the kitchen units.

Metallic metals are added to the design aesthetics with prominent lighting offering the perfect mood and task lighting, illuminating the worksurfaces and the area for a perfect evening of entertainment.

This side of the kitchen run starts off the symmetrical design with a floor-to-ceiling unit housing two single ovens by Siemens. Above and below are nifty spaces for baking trays, and pots and pans.

The black gloss and stainless steel finish complete the look of the industrial style our client has opted for.

Flowing from the left to right is a Carrara style quartz worktop that fills the space with a popular design trend and a hard-wearing sumptuous surface. The white backdrop with the prominent grey veins makes way for a design statement against the rich colour of the cabinets.

The end floor-to-ceiling cabinet houses a built-in fridge, where it can be hidden away from view and provide the kitchen with a seamless finish.

Our client also opted for the Wolf Gourmet 4 slice toaster with the signature red knobs. This appliance is powered with precise control for consistent results every time. It handles the thickest slices with aplomb and gives you the whole toast-browning spectrum from crisp and pale to dark brown with a distinct crunch.

Our client also complimented the kitchen appliances with the Wolf blender finished with the signature red knob. The Wolf Gourmet High-performance Blender will change the way you prepare foods. This multi-tasking kitchen must-have will chop vegetables, puree sauces, whip cream, churn butter, grind grains and create smoothies beyond compare. It’s a quiet piece of kit and will open up a whole new world of taste and nutrition in your kitchen, the perfect appliance to use on the island plugged into the pop-up socket.

In their own words “with Wolf Gourmet, the dish you envision will be the dish you serve.”

The cupboards below the sink area are the ideal place to house the cleaning materials for that speed clean this Autumn. These full-height pull-out drawers have been built either side of the sink area making the kitchen a perfect multi-functional space as well as a seamless symmetrical design.

The sink area is complete with Perrin & Rowe deck mounted taps in polished chrome, which have been combined with a Shaws of Darwen ceramic sink. These taps are sleek in design and provide our client with the ultimate wash station, as well as a large area to work with.

This exciting handmade kitchen is a great example of how a traditional dream kitchen fits within this property and our client’s personal preferences.
