  3. Bridger Kitchen Diary – A closer look at the Traditional Shaker in Saltby, Leicestershire

Following the A1 towards the north from our showroom, we find ourselves at an idyllic village in the borough of Leicestershire known as Saltby. It’s always good to design and build kitchens around the country so we get our brand across. In a recent home renovation, we had a large open-plan space to play with and opted for an L-shaped layout, plenty of storage and gorgeous furnishings.

Say a warm hello to this Traditional Shaker designed with lots of panels, hand-painted in a rich blue and finished with luxurious fixtures and fittings…

… located 90 odd miles north in Melton Mowbray.

Ever dreamed of waking up to a space that you have designed and created all by yourself but with some help from a professional? Let that dream become reality and sink your toes into a room that is filled with love and perfect for spending quality time with your loved ones. Our client had a vision and we made it a reality with the ultimate handmade kitchen.

We hand-painted the furniture in Dock Blue by Little Greene. A deep indigo hue that’s generous and indulgent in colour, allowing you to style it in any way you want and doesn’t overpower the room. We think it looks sensational especially with the hints of brass and gold that pop out in every corner. We love people who go full in with their design choices – bold and brave!

We designed the kitchen island to sit centrally in the space that would sit up to four guests and act as the ideal spot for a vase of fresh flowers. Look at the amount of worktop space there is!

All the cabinet doors have been adorned with raw brass handles from Dowsing and Reynolds. An understated touch of glam.

A shot looking on at the Rangemaster and a splashback made from an antique mirror. A mirrored splashback is a sought after finishing product, and an antique one is that little bit more special. It creates an impressive feature giving an illusion of the room being bigger than it actually is. This type of design can also disguise any splashes during cooking due to the mottle antique effect.

The natural wood floor and traditional shaker cabinets contrast beautifully with one another creating a cohesive design. We also created a breakfast pantry in amongst the main run of cabinetry.

Such a handy place for the hoover! I mean who has a separate cupboard for the hoover?

This piece of furniture is certainly storage goals, fit flushing against the surrounding walls. A 3-in-1 unit that consists of a full-height pull-out larder with a fridge on one side and a freezer on the other. Keep it simple with dry and cold products all in one place. The organisation is key to having the perfect multi-functional hub of the home for you and your family.

There was even room for a slim wine cooler within the island.

We absolutely love this sink that our client chose in their kitchen design. Something a little different and simply breathtaking. This is the Nivito Cube in a brass/gold finish under-mounted under the most luxurious worktops known as Noble Carrara. It was also completed with the Nivito tap in brass/gold, making the perfect match.

A look at some of the different storage solutions we included within the kitchen layout.

  • A Slim sauce pull-out drawer close to the working station, making it easy to grab
  • Deep drawers for pots and pans and a secondary drawer to stop you from bending down for heavy items
  • A pegboard drawer storing the dinner set with the pegs adjusting to each sized plate or bowl for convenient storage

Let us leave you with a full view of the kitchen space again! Every view of this incredible space is just mesmerizing. It fills us with so much joy and happiness from every angle when we look at it. Such drama and tradition, where a warm and rich ambience is created and just the right amount of metallics bouncing around.⠀
