Nicholas Bridger U-Shaped Kitchens
Are you planning your kitchen layout?
Will a U-shaped style be the best layout for your kitchen?
A U-shape layout in a kitchen can be made up of three walls or three sides in a shape of a “U”. It makes the most of the available space you have within your hub of the home and offers plenty of storage space and worktop areas, with no space wasted. It is an efficient kitchen style, making it easier for chefs to access various areas of the kitchen, and is probably the most practical of kitchen layouts.
Another great advantage with a U-shape layout is incorporating corner storage, such as a carousel or a Le Mans corner unit. They will perfectly blend in and create a storage space like you have never seen before.
The U-shape layout is perfect for when you are not sure on what layout to create in your hub of the home. It is a flawless design for both smaller and larger kitchens, with separate work zones for food prep, cooking and cleaning.
Nicholas Bridger U-shaped Projects
The U-shaped Classic Shaker in Matching Tye below is filled with our in-frame furniture featuring our beaded front frame, hand painted in Cornforth White from Farrow & Ball and finished off with a quartz worktop. This property dates back to the 1800s where the space is filled with the original beams from the property creating a warm feeling, and a kitchen that will be loved for many years. One side of the “U” has been completed with a very large workable space, with the opposite side housing the luxury appliances and sink area. At the main part of the “U” a beautiful crisp white AGA sits proud in the middle warming the kitchen up in those Winter months.
The U-shaped Classic Shaker in Epping below is formed with Silestone Yukon Blanco quartz worktops, and Victorian beaded furniture in the fresh Cornforth White by Farrow & Ball. This U-shape layout features the perfect “kitchen triangle” for our client who is a professional chef. On one length of the U-shape sits a 36″ Sub-Zero Fridge/freezer, the opposite side houses the largest Wolf Dual Fuel Range Cooker, and at the bottom of the “U” is a Shaws 900mm double Butler sink met with Perrin & Rowe taps. Our client can gaze out of the window and dream of those beautiful sunny beach days.
The U-Shaped Classic Shaker in Sheering below is connected with White Carrara Marble worktops, and deep blue cabinetry featuring our Victorian style beading. This particular layout has been formed using three walls within the kitchen space featuring different appliances and features. One length of the “U” houses the dishwasher and a ceramic Shaw sink met with gold/brass Perrin & Rowe taps. The opposite length has a Sub-Zero Wine Storage integrated in to the cabinetry, and the back of the “U” features a Wolf E-Series Single Oven.
The U-shaped Traditional Shaker in Royston below is made up with a polished grey quartz, and a peninsula that extends out in to the open-plan space. This provides extra worktop space and storage. On one length of the “U”, it houses the ultimate cooking experience, which includes a beautiful big AGA, and a single oven and microwave. The bottom of the “U” provides extra worktop space and storage, and our client thought of a clever idea and placed their iPad on the wall. The peninsula section houses the perfect double Butler sink, more storage and the ideal wine cooler on the opposite side. A very versatile space great for dining and entertaining.
The U-shaped Classic Shaker in Stansted Mountfitchet below is joined with a Quartz worktops that has a lovely natural appearance, and cabinetry with a cock beaded front frame. We built a island in the middle of this U-shape kitchen to provide extra worktop space, storage solutions, and an area for pulling up a chair for a mid-morning coffee. We created a curve on the end of the island for a stylish design, and an added soft touch of elegance. Three walls have made up the U-shape layout in this hub of the home, with one length featuring two single ovens and a hob, the bottom of the “U” housing an under-mounted Franke sink met with a Quooker Fusion tap, and the third run for everyday essentials.
The U-shaped Traditional Country Kitchen in Chelmsford below is created with a black granite worktop, and apple green and white tongue and groove cabinetry making it a beautiful kitchen that’s perfect for any home in the country or suburbs. We added a peninsular to one length of the “U” layout to create extra worktop space and an ultimate dog bed area. The opposite side features the sink area underneath a double glazed window bringing lots of natural light to the kitchen space, and the bottom of the “U” is the cooking area where a traditional range cooker sits pride of place. We incorporated an island in to the centre of the room that’s built for an area to sit, extra storage and most importantly more worktop space.
