The Breakfast Pantry by Nicholas Bridger
The breakfast pantry by Nicholas Bridger is an upcoming design trend and intelligent storage solution to keep your toaster, coffee machine and everything you need to hand to create an incredible breakfast area that is hidden away, but instantly accessible.
The pantry is somewhere where beverages, food, dishes, cups, and household cleaning products are stored. The word “pantry” comes from the Latin word “panis”, meaning “bread”. From the late Middle Ages a pantry was where bread was kept and food preparation was done. In the Victorian era large houses and estates in Britain maintained separate rooms dedicated to food preparation. Today the Modern pantry is making a huge comeback in British homes, and the demand is due to both charm and nostalgia a pantry has to offer.
The breakfast pantry below in the Whetstone project has been created for our client’s coffee machine and microwave. When discussing the design with our client they wanted to create a clean and clutter-free layout, meaning no appliances on the worktop. This meant that these two appliances had their very own larder as well as the breakfast essentials you need to create the perfect cup and warm hearty porridge. The bi-fold doors can be left open when in use, and then shut away quickly to retain the calm and collected feel our client wanted. There is space above and round the sides of the appliances to store mugs, cups, egg cups and a selection of teas and coffees.
This double pantry cupboard from our project in Whetstone provides lots of additional storage as well as a countertop that is revealed when the doors open up. The space has been used ideally for the toaster making it a perfect area to prepare breakfast and store the cereals. The addition of the door racks too make it an ideal place to store bags of tea, coffee and biscuits.
The kitchen below in Whetstone, London has an in-frame style cupboard finished in Little Greene Inox, situated along the main cooking run that’s perfect for creating a great breakfast pantry with additional worktop space so everything is to hand on a busy morning. Dippy egg and soldiers will be ready in no time!
Our project below in Balham, South West London is a bespoke Modern Shaker style, which has been taken floor to ceiling for a dramatic effect with plenty of storage, and painted in a light hue. Our client wanted to create a breakfast pantry into their hub of the home, which was an ideal space for the toaster, coffee machine, tea, coffee, juice, cups, mugs and glasses. The bi-fold doors allow it to be fully open when preparing the breakfast and shut away to create a minimalistic look to match the rest of the kitchen. Additional counter space was added to prepare the perfect cup of coffee and that delicious crisp toast, and the under cabinets were built for additional storage for more breakfast essentials for a busy morning ahead.
Here at Nicholas Bridger we pride ourselves in creating new and enticing designs to our projects to get the very best out of your kitchen. Sometimes storing food in a kitchen is often overlooked, so a breakfast pantry is a great addition to add an effective design in the hub of the home. We look forward to hearing from you.
